We are currently looking for a dedicated, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Chelmsford.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with special educational needs and additional learning requirements.
You will play an important role in helping students access their education, develop confidence and independence, and achieve their individual goals.
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN
Assist teachers with the delivery of engaging learning activities
Support students to access the curriculum and participate in lessons
Help students develop their confidence, independence and communication skills
Provide support with social, emotional and behavioural needs
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement
Follow individual education and support plans
Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other education professionals
Build positive and trusting relationships with students
Support students during classroom activities and wider school activities
Help create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN TA, Behaviour Support Assistant, Youth Worker or within a care/support environment is desirable.
However, we are also happy to consider candidates with transferable experience who have the right attitude and passion for supporting young people.
