Job summary

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist provision in Chorley, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated needs. The setting provides a structured and nurturing environment, focused on building trust, independence and positive outcomes for every student.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant on a temp to perm basis, starting as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with ASC.
• Knowledge or experience supporting students with PDA.
• Previous experience in a SEND school or similar setting.
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students with ASC and PDA both in and out of the classroom to manage behaviours and reduce anxiety.
• Help to promote engagement in learning and positive outcomes for students.
• Support delivery of classroom activities and contribute to a calm, nurturing environment.
