Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a specialist education setting in Preston on a temporary to permanent basis, with an immediate start. The role involves supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs in both classroom and pastoral settings, assisting the teacher with differentiated learning activities, and promoting positive behaviour and independence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with Autism (desirable).
• Experience managing or supporting challenging behaviour (desirable).
• Patient, resilient and compassionate approach.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with Autism and additional needs in classroom and pastoral settings.
• Assist the teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
• Support pupils with challenging behaviour using calm, consistent strategies.
• Provide personal care as required.
• Encourage independence, communication and emotional regulation.
