Job summary

Prospero Teaching is partnering with an outstanding specialist SEND school in Bury, Greater Manchester, supporting students aged 11-19 with complex needs across five bespoke pathways. The role is full-time, permanent, with term-time hours 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

You will provide hands-on, personalised support to pupils, working with teachers, therapists and families to remove barriers to learning. Experience with SEND, PMLD/SLD/ASD, and a warm, patient approach are essential;

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with complex SEND needs in school, care, or specialist settings.
• Confident with PMLD, SLD, ASD, physical disabilities or sensory impairments.
• Warm, person-centred approach with genuine commitment to wellbeing.
• Able to follow detailed support and care plans accurately and consistently.
• Experience with BSL, AAC or Makaton is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on, personalised support to students with complex SEND needs.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and families to remove barriers to learning.
• Help implement and follow detailed support care plans for each pupil.
• Monitor progress and adapt strategies to meet individual needs.

Daily Rate: £500 - £600 per week (depending on experience)

About the Role:

As a SEND Support Worker, you'll provide hands-on, personalised support to students whose needs require a little more - more patience, more creativity, more consistency. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families, you'll help remove the barriers that stand between a young person and their potential. It's challenging, meaningful work - and no two days will ever be the same.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience supporting young people with complex SEND needs - in a school, care, or specialist setting
• Confidence working with students with PMLD, SLD, ASD, physical disabilities, or sensory impairments
• A warm, person-centred approach with genuine commitment to student wellbeing
• Ability to follow detailed support and care plans accurately and consistently
• Any experience of BSL, AAC, Makaton, or other communication approaches is a strong advantage
• CACHE, NVQ, or relevant health and social care qualification desirable
