Job summary

St. Osmund’s C.E. Middle School in Dorchester is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to support pupils with diverse needs across the classroom. The role focuses on KS2 SEND support, including 1:1 and small group interventions, and may involve supervising break and lunch periods.

The position runs 29 hours per week, term-time only (38 weeks), with a fixed term contract until August 2027. The start date is 4 January or sooner, subject to pre-employment checks and safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a good standard of English and Maths.
• Experience supporting SEND pupils in Key Stage 2 is preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support children with a range of needs in the classroom.
• Provide 1:1 support and small group intervention for SEND pupils in KS2.
• Assist with break and lunchtime supervision.
• Prepare and maintain learning resources and ensure learner safety.
