Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a passionate SEND Support Assistant to join our local trust. You will work with pupils who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to help remove barriers to learning and promote their well-being.

You will support with emotional and sensory regulation, manage challenging behaviours where needed, and collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to tailor learning activities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, ideally in a similar role or setting (psychology graduates highly encouraged to apply).
• Resilience, patience, and a proactive attitude.
• Strong teamwork skills and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Support children with emotional and sensory regulation needs.
• Work with pupils who exhibit challenging behaviours and help develop strategies to support their development.
• Assist in creating and implementing learning activities and strategies.
• Provide consistent and empathetic support to students, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure individual learning needs are met.
