Job summary

St Mary’s CE Primary School in Beverley seeks a caring Teaching Assistant to support a child with an EHCP who has autism and ADHD, and to assist the wider class. The role is term-time, 17.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 12pm–3:30pm, with DBS checks and safeguarding responsibilities.

You will work closely with the class teacher and Inclusion lead to implement strategies, support lunchtime and playtimes, and help pupils access learning in a supportive, Christian school community.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with autism, ADHD or other additional needs would be desirable.
• Ability to support a child with EHCP to access learning and develop independence.
• Willingness to work with small groups and support classroom activities.
• Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Support a child with EHCP during classroom, lunchtime and playtimes.
• Work with class teacher and Inclusion lead to implement EHCP strategies.
• Support wider class with learning activities and group work.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school.
