Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a full-time SEND Support Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in North Shields. You will support pupils with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties, providing encouragement and consistency to help learners access education and reach their potential.

You will work alongside teachers and therapists to promote independence, communication and wellbeing, while building positive relationships and celebrating progress.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
• DBS check required and candidates may need to subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
• Safeguarding training is provided/completed as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils throughout the school day.
• Encouraging independence and communication.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Supporting learning activities and promoting emotional wellbeing.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, teachers and therapists.
