Job summary

TeacherActive Liverpool is seeking an experienced SEND Specialist Teaching Assistant to support children with SEND in primary settings across Merseyside. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex needs, including ASC/ASD, ADHD, SLCN and SEMH.

You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO, adapting activities, monitoring progress and promoting safeguarding while fostering a nurturing classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in a primary setting.
• Ability to provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Experience with ASC/ASD, ADHD, SLCN, SEMH and related needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils with mixed and complex SEND needs in mainstream primary settings.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.
• Assist with behaviour management and de-escalation.
• Work with teachers/SENCOs to monitor progress and feedback.
