Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a SEND Service Lead to drive strategic and operational leadership for the Statutory SEND Service within a local authority.

The role ensures delivery of Education, Health and Care (EHC) statutory functions under the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice, maintaining high standards and regulatory compliance. 37 hours per week, with 1–2 days in the office.

Qualifications

Summary

The SEND Service Lead is a pivotal role within a local authority, tasked with providing strategic and operational leadership for the Statutory SEND Service. This position ensures the effective delivery of Education, Health, and Care (EHC) statutory functions in accordance with the Children and Families Act 2014, the SEND Code of Practice, and other relevant legislation. The role is crucial for maintaining high standards in service delivery and compliance with statutory requirements.

Requirements:

• Essential Experience Required:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a comparable SEND leadership role within a Local Authority.
  • Significant experience leading a statutory SEND service both operationally and strategically.
  • Proven track record of managing Education, Health and Care assessment and review processes.
• Essential Qualifications Required:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Relevant leadership or management qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development in SEND, education, leadership, or public sector management.

Additional Information

• Working hours: 37 hours per week.
• DBS Required.
• The post requires attendance in the office for 1–2 days per week.
• We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
