Job summary

Quantum Scholars are seeking an experienced SEND/SEMH Tutor to provide personalised one-to-one support for learners in Wokingham, from primary through GCSE. The role requires calm, patient behavior management and the ability to adapt approaches to individual needs, including difficult behaviours and safeguarding compliance.

The role is in-person, with responsibilities spanning educational and pastoral support, collaboration with families and schools, and helping learners re-engage with education

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND/SEMH needs.
• Significant experience supporting young people who display challenging behaviour.
• Ability to manage challenging, distressed or unpredictable behaviour.
• Experience in school, tutoring, mentoring or youth work.
• Ability to support GCSE-level learning in your subject area.
• Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one educational and pastoral support to learners with SEND/SEMH needs.
• Support learners from primary level through GCSE, depending on subject expertise.
• Establish clear boundaries, routines and expectations.
• Use positive behaviour support strategies to encourage engagement.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to parents/carers and other professionals.
