Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking experienced SEND and SEMH Tutors to work in Herefordshire in-person, delivering one-to-one or small-group tuition with a focus on students with additional learning needs.

Role involves building supportive relationships, personalising learning, and collaborating with parents and professionals to help students re-engage with education and develop confidence and skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational, tutoring or support setting.
• Experience working with students with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
• A patient, calm, flexible and supportive approach.

Responsibilities

• Delivering one-to-one or small-group tuition to children and young people.
• Supporting students across core subjects such as English and Maths, depending on experience.
• Supporting students with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
• Planning engaging, accessible and personalised learning activities.
• Adapting teaching approaches to suit individual abilities, learning needs and levels of engagement.
• Building positive, consistent and trusting relationships with students.
• Helping students develop confidence, resilience, independence and positive attitudes towards learning.
• Supporting students who may have struggled within a traditional school environment.
• Encouraging students to re-engage with education and develop their learning skills.
• Monitoring progress and providing appropriate feedback.
• Working collaboratively with parents, carers and relevant professionals where required.
• Maintaining clear and professional communication.
• Following safeguarding procedures at all times.
