Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a dedicated SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a primary school setting. The role focuses on 1:1 and small-group SEND support, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning with consistency, patience and strong relationships.

The ideal candidate will have recent UK school experience, a calm and resilient approach, and a passion for inclusive education. Long-term placements with competitive pay and consultant support are available.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience working within a UK school.
  • SEND and/or SEMH experience.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group SEND support.
  • Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs.
  • Assist with emotional and sensory regulation.
  • Implement agreed behaviour and support strategies.
  • Deliver targeted interventions.
  • Support pupils during lessons and unstructured times.
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs.
  • Encourage independence and confidence.

SEND & SEMH Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Do you have experience supporting children with SEND and/or SEMH needs and want a role where you can make a genuine difference?

Aspire People are recruiting a dedicated SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive primary school environment.

The role would suit someone who is confident supporting pupils with additional needs and understands the importance of consistency, patience, and strong relationships when helping children overcome barriers to learning.

The Role:
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group SEND support
  • Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs
  • Helping children with emotional and sensory regulation
  • Implementing agreed behaviour and support strategies
  • Delivering targeted interventions
  • Supporting pupils during lessons and unstructured times
  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs
  • Encouraging independence and confidence
We're Looking For:
  • Recent experience working within a UK school
  • Previous SEND and/or SEMH experience
