Job summary

Trust Education are recruiting a dedicated SEND/SEMH Support Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Chesterfield. You will provide academic, emotional and behavioural support to pupils from Year 4 to Year 9.

You will work closely with teachers and the wider school team to help pupils access learning, stay calm in challenging situations and promote wellbeing. This is a full-time, long-term role with a supportive staff team and opportunities to develop experience with complex SEND.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND/SEMH is desirable.
• Ability to stay calm and patient in challenging situations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy with pupils, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group academic and emotional support to pupils with SEND/SEMH needs.
• Support pupils to access learning and engage with lessons.
• Build positive relationships and modelling calm, consistent behaviour.
