Job summary

Suffolk County Council is seeking a Data Analyst to design and govern BI solutions for Children and Young People’s Services, especially SEND reforms. You will drive self-service reporting and collaborate with IT and partner organisations to deliver data-focused intelligence for improved outcomes.

The role requires extensive BI and data analytics experience, strong leadership, and the ability to coach teams and stakeholders across the directorate. Hybrid working in Ipswich is available.

  • Salary: £48,163 - £53,788 per annum (pro rata for part time)

Your role and responsibilities

You will:

  • lead the design, development and governance of Business Intelligence solutions across Children and Young People's Services, specifically in relation to SEND Reforms, using tools such as Power BI, SQL and SSRS
  • drive a self-service performance and reporting culture by improving access to data, insight and decision-making tools across the directorate
  • work closely with IT, transformation teams and partner organisations to develop reporting infrastructure, data-sharing solutions and innovative intelligence products
  • transform complex data into meaningful intelligence that supports service improvement, strategic planning and better outcomes for children, young people and families
  • lead the development of technical capability within the CYP Intelligence Hub through coaching, training and creating a culture of continuous learning.
You will need:
  • Extensive experience in Business Intelligence, data analytics and performance reporting, with expert knowledge of Power BI, SQL and SSRS.
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making and service improvement.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience developing, coaching and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Experience of designing and delivering technical training and building capability within teams to support continuous learning and innovation.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across services, partner organisations and senior leadership groups.
  • Experience working with children and young people's data, information governance requirements, and complex performance and intelligence frameworks.
