Job summary

Q3 Academy Tipton in Tipton is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of SEND and Primary Skills to help pupils build foundational reading, writing and numeracy. You will deliver structured phonics and early literacy teaching, assess starting points and plan targeted interventions to close gaps.

The role welcomes primary-trained teachers moving into secondary settings or SEND practitioners, with a focus on high expectations and student progression.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with experience in phonics, early literacy and numeracy.
• Strong knowledge of KS1/KS2 progression and intervention planning.

Responsibilities

• deliver systematic and explicit teaching of phonics, early literacy and numeracy
• assess starting points and plan sequenced teaching and targeted intervention
• adapt teaching to meet SEND, communication, language and literacy needs
• provide scaffolded learning while ensuring age-respectful and ambitious experiences
• work closely with the SENCO, teaching assistants, pastoral colleagues and relevant specialists
• contribute to individual targets and Education, Health and Care Plan outcomes
• use teaching assistants and other resources effectively while promoting students' independence
• help students apply literacy and numeracy skills across the wider curriculum
