The Role:
Five Education is seeking a nurturing and proactive SEN Nursery Practitioner to join a supportive early years setting in Bristol. You will play a vital role in providing care and tailored educational support to young children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those with autism, communication delays, global developmental delay, and sensory processing needs.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood development, able to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment, and ready to provide emotional and educational support to children with varying additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality care and early years education for children with SEND
- Support individual learning plans in line with EHCPs
- Use play-based and sensory learning strategies to engage children
- Promote the development of social, emotional, and communication skills
- Work collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent support
- Maintain accurate observations and reports on children’s progress
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working in early years settings, particularly with children with SEND
- A relevant Level 2 or 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent)
- Patience, compassion, and a child-centred approach
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusion
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one (we can assist)
