Job summary

Elementa is recruiting a SEND Humanities Teacher for a maternity cover in Bridgwater. The role is full-time, with daily pay between £168 and £261, starting September 2026. The successful candidate will hold QTS and have history teaching experience across KS3-4, with SEN experience preferred.

The appointment includes full vetting and DBS via Elementa, with PAYE contracting and weekly pay. You will work with colleagues and families to support pupils’ access to the curriculum and achieve positive

• A nurturing, patient, and inclusive approach to teaching, with the ability to build positive relationships and foster pupil confidence.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs and ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated History lessons that inspire and support learners of varying abilities.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills, working effectively with colleagues, support staff, families, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
• Availability to work full-time from as soon as possible, with flexibility to provide cover through October half term and potentially until Christmas.
