Job summary

Elementa is partnering with secondary schools across Devon to recruit passionate Science Teachers for a range of permanent and long-term roles. You will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with some opportunities in Key Stage 5 and the chance to specialise in Biology, Chemistry or Physics where appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging and well-planned Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 opportunities available in some schools).
  • Deliver lessons across the Science curriculum, with opportunities to specialise in Biology, Chemistry or Physics where appropriate.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess, monitor and support student progress.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing success of the Science department and wider school community.

Science Teacher

Pay: Paid To Scale (MPS + UPS Available)

Elementa is working with a number of secondary schools across Devon to recruit passionate and dedicated Science Teachers for a range of permanent and long-term positions.

Our partner schools are committed to delivering high-quality Science education and are looking for teachers who can inspire curiosity, develop scientific thinking and help students achieve their full potential. You'll have the opportunity to teach Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with some roles also offering Key Stage 5 teaching in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

We work with a variety of schools, from well-established community schools to academies, each offering supportive leadership teams, collaborative Science departments and excellent opportunities for professional development.

The Role

  • Weekly pay – no waiting for monthly payroll cut-off dates, Elementa pays one week in lieu.
  • PAYE contract – unless a candidate specifically requests it, all candidates are paid via PAYE giving them the protections and payment structure of a traditional employer:employee relationship.
  • Training & Support – a broad range of free or heavily discounted training available including Safeguarding, Behaviour, Team Teach, SEND, Makaton and Thrive. Regular welfare contact and support from a dedicated candidate manager.
  • Fair pay policy – our candidates are paid to scale, where a variation on this may be required written agreement will be provided ahead of the position.
