Job summary

Lift Clacton is seeking a SEND Mentor to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You’ll work one-to-one and in small groups to develop self-regulation, confidence and effective study habits, in collaboration with our SEND team and teachers.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
• Understanding of SEND and barriers to learning.
• Ability to work with individuals and small groups.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisation and time-management, with accurate record-keeping.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.

Responsibilities

• Organise and deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions focused on self-regulation, confidence, resilience and independence.
• Help students understand learning profiles and develop study strategies.
• Create SMART targets, monitor progress and review impact of interventions.
• Provide guidance and support to students with SEND inside and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate with the SENDCo and teachers to share effective strategies.
• Plan and facilitate out-of-class learning opportunities for students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Support inclusion in educational visits and wider school activities.
• Maintain accurate records of interventions, targets and student progress.
