  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced trauma, attachment difficulties or disrupted education.

  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, helping them develop coping strategies and positive behaviours.

  • Assisting teachers with delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP targets.

  • Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence, resilience and positive social skills.

  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams to maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.

  • Supporting pupils during classroom activities, transitions, breaktimes and other aspects of the school day.

  • Following safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare and wellbeing of all pupils.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • An understanding of trauma-informed approaches, emotional regulation and de-escalation strategies.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people and helping them achieve positive outcomes.

  • Experience in specialist SEND schools, alternative provisions, residential care, youth work or similar settings would be highly desirable.
