SEND Learning Support Workers

Full-time, term-time only

Location: Doncaster Special School

We are recruiting Special Educational Needs Learning Support Workers for supply cover at a large special school in Doncaster. The position is available to start ASAP on a temporary basis with the potential for permanent placement. The school caters to students aged 3 to 19 years. We seek individuals with backgrounds in:

• SEND teaching assistants, support workers, personal care assistants, social care workers, or similar experience.

Qualifications and training that are advantageous include:

• GNVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, SEND diploma, MA in SEND, Makaton, PECS, PEG feeding, personal care, medication training, hoist training, moving and handling, autism awareness, Team Teach, MAPPA, PRYCE, BSL, sensory training, play therapy, or similar qualifications.

Experience working with individuals with various special educational needs such as:

• Autistic spectrum disorders (verbal and non-verbal), Down's Syndrome, Asperger's, specific learning difficulties, severe and profound learning difficulties, complex needs, and challenging behaviors.

Candidates should be flexible, support the class teacher effectively, and understand the core values of a special school setting.
