Location: Schools across the Borough of Hillingdon
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Flexible Supply

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking passionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistants (SEND TAs) to work on a supply basis across a variety of mainstream and specialist settings within the London Borough of Hillingdon.

Your Role as a SEND TA:

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting students with a variety of needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, physical disabilities, and moderate to complex learning difficulties.

• Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised learning plans.

• Assisting with day-to-day classroom activities and learning tasks.

• Supporting students' social, emotional, and behavioural development.

• Helping pupils to develop independence and confidence both in and out of the classroom.

• Providing 1:1 or small group support where required.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience working with children or young adults with Special Educational Needs (SEND) is preferred, but not essential - we welcome those with relevant transferable experience (care, youth work, etc.).

• A patient, proactive, and compassionate attitude.

• Flexibility and adaptability across different school settings and age ranges.

• Strong communication and teamworking skills.

• A good understanding of safeguarding practices (training provided).
