Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is recruiting a SEND Learning Support Assistant for a specialist school in Wiltshire. The role is full-time and temporary, starting ASAP, assisting pupils aged 11 to 19 with diverse needs.

You will support individual learning plans, emotional growth and behaviour, helping pupils engage positively with education. The school offers a nurturing environment with small groups or one-to-one learning, focusing on confidence and self-esteem.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH, ADHD, Autism or associated barriers to learning.
• Experience in a school, alternative provision, youth work or similar support setting is desirable.
• Ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people.
• Confidence supporting pupils in small groups and one-to-one.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Patient, resilient, flexible and nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with their individual learning programmes and development.
• Support emotional, social development and behaviour in pupils.
• Engage young people positively with education using a calm, consistent and proactive approach.
