Job summary

De Aston School is seeking a Level 1 Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly Learning Support Department. You will work with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing classroom-based support to individuals and small groups across various subjects.

Joining a dedicated team, you will help create positive learning experiences, encourage independence, and support students to overcome barriers affecting their progress.

Qualifications

• Experience or willingness to work with students with SEND.
• Ability to support learning across multiple subjects.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom-based support to individual students and small groups across subjects such as literacy, science, maths and English.
• Help create positive learning experiences and encourage independence.
• Support students to overcome barriers to learning and progress.
• Work with teachers and Learning Support staff to promote inclusion and student wellbeing.
