Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant in a South Birmingham SEND school to support pupils one-to-one and in small groups. You will assist with classroom activities, manage individual learning needs and help with personal care where required.

The ideal candidate may hold a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support qualification and has experience supporting children with SEND, including ASD/MLD/SLD. A patient, flexible and enthusiastic attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• A relevant Teaching Assistant or Learning Support qualification is desirable.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly ASD, MLD or SLD.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional learning and communication needs.
• A willingness to assist with personal care where required.
• A patient, nurturing and understanding approach to supporting vulnerable pupils.
• A positive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude, with a genuine passion for making a difference.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups across lessons.
• Assist with classroom activities and manage individual learning needs.
• Provide personal care where required and monitor pupil well-being.
