Job summary

Milk Education is seeking compassionate SEND Learning Support Assistants to support learners in a specialist post-16 setting in Harrogate from September. You will work 1:1 and in small groups, helping learners achieve EHCP outcomes and build independence.

The role offers specialist SEND training, CPD and long-term placement with potential for permanent placement. Competitive pay and dedicated consultant support are provided to help you develop professional skills and make a lasting impact.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient and resilient approach to support.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience or interest in SEND and education supports.
• Flexible, proactive and reliable in a school setting.
• Graduates in Psychology, Education or related fields encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Support learners on 1:1 and small group basis across the college day.
• Assist with personalised learning activities aligned to EHCP outcomes.
• Encourage independence, communication and wellbeing among learners.
• Support life skills and community-based learning where needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to deliver high‑quality support.
• Assist with personal care where required and maintain safety.
