Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a SEND Learning Support Assistant at a specialist post-16 college in Harrogate from September 2026. The role offers a long-term, permanent-possible contract with a supportive team and specialist SEND training.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, align activities to EHCP outcomes, encourage independence and communication, support life skills and employability, and collaborate with teachers and therapists to provide high-quality support for learners with SEND.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with SEND is desirable.
• Previous experience in education or care is beneficial.
• Willingness to undertake specialist SEND CPD and training.

Responsibilities

• Support learners 1:1 and in small groups across the college day.
• Assist with personalised learning activities aligned to EHCP outcomes.
• Promote independence, communication, and well-being in learners.
• Support with life skills and community-based learning as required.
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to deliver high-quality support.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
