Job summary

Milk Education is seeking compassionate SEND Learning Support Assistants to support Primary and Specialist SEND settings across Halifax from September. Our partner schools provide inclusive and nurturing environments for children with ASC, ADHD, communication needs and complex learning difficulties.

This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and making a positive impact every day.

Qualifications

• Patient, caring and resilient.
• Passionate about supporting children with SEND.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible and willing to work across Halifax.
• Previous SEND or care experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of PECS, Makaton or sensory strategies is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Encourage communication, independence and confidence.
• Support pupils using visual resources and structured routines.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Support personal care where required.
• Help create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Contract: Full-time, long-term (with potential for permanent placement)

Milk Education is recruiting compassionate and dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistants to support a range of Primary and Specialist SEND settings across Halifax from September. Our partner schools provide inclusive and nurturing environments for children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, communication needs and complex learning difficulties.

This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and making a positive impact every day.

• Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
