Job summary

Hadrian Academy is seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our team. You will work with pupils with SEND, providing individual and small-group support and adapting activities to meet their needs.

You will collaborate with the SEND class teacher and school staff to help pupils access the curriculum, develop independence and reach their potential. Hours are 8:45am to 3:15pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. Salary: £18,163 per annum.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning activities to help pupils access the curriculum and achieve their individual targets.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and responding sensitively to their individual needs.
• Encouraging communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and independence.
• Promoting positive behaviour through consistent, nurturing and supportive approaches.
• Supporting pupils with personal care where required, maintaining their dignity, privacy and safety.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, colleagues, parents and external professionals to provide consistent support.
• Contributing to the monitoring of pupils' progress and the development of effective support strategies.
• Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils at all times.
