Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a Secondary School in Newcastle, starting in September on a short or long-term basis. The role is paid within the school pay scale.

You will support pupils, assist with planning, and help deliver lessons in a supportive, inclusive environment. This is a great opportunity for both new and experienced educators to become a familiar face in a school that values wellbeing, community and staff development.

Qualifications

• Recent experience working in a school or education setting.
• Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience
• Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups, responding to their individual needs
• Helping deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps
• Working alongside the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources
• Promoting an accepting, inclusive classroom where every student feels they belong
