Job summary

TimePlan Education in Totton, Southampton is seeking a SEND Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with SEND in the classroom. This full‑time, temporary (ongoing) role starts ASAP and offers ongoing temporary work with potential for extension.

You will help implement IEPs, promote positive behaviour, and work closely with teaching staff to create a safe, inclusive learning environment. Experience with SEND is preferred; patience, empathy, and teamwork are essential, and safeguarding

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based desirable)
• Patient, empathetic and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children
• Qualifications or training in education or SEND desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, SLD, PMLD)
• Support pupils in the classroom and engage them with learning activities
• Assist with implementing IEPs and support strategies
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Foster a safe, inclusive, nurturing learning environment
• Liaise effectively with teaching staff and other support professionals
