Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting Learning Support Assistants across Essex SEND schools. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with diverse needs, building trusting relationships and assisting with learning, communication, and social development.

No previous classroom experience is required; transferable skills from education, healthcare, or service roles are welcome. Roles offer flexible full/part-time hours with PAYE pay and long-term opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, helping them feel safe, valued and understood.
• Support children with their learning, communication, social development and emotional wellbeing.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour through patience and encouragement.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, helping them feel safe, valued and understood.
• Support children with their learning, communication, social development and emotional wellbeing.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour through patience and encouragement.
• Assist with personal care and physical needs where required.
• Work closely with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Adapt activities to meet pupils' individual needs and abilities.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and help them develop positive coping strategies.
