Job summary

Education Learning Trust is seeking a Learning Support Intervention Assistant to join our SEND team. You will work under the direction of the SENDCo and teaching staff to provide targeted academic and emotional support to pupils, 1:1 or in small groups.

Your role will be central to improving outcomes and building confidence among our learners, helping them access the curriculum and participate fully in class activities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or SEND setting.
• Patience, caring approach and understanding of learners with additional needs.
• Ability to follow intervention plans and adapt to changing needs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Proactive and committed to making a difference.

Responsibilities

• Assist and supplement teaching staff to meet the intellectual, social and physical needs of pupils with learning difficulties.
• Encourage students to work independently on suitable tasks.
• Support aims and objectives of lessons for pupils on the SEND Register.
• Promote and develop an inclusive school environment.
• Ensure safety and wellbeing of students with SEND while moving around the school.
