Job summary

YMCA East Surrey is seeking a caring and motivated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join the CYP - Disability Services team. The role involves supporting learners with disabilities in an alternative provision setting, focusing on life skills, wellbeing, and inclusive activities.

The position is 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time (39 weeks). Candidates should have training in safeguarding and positive behaviour management, with willingness to complete additional health training if

Qualifications

• Experience in education or social care with young people who have disabilities.
• Relevant training in positive behaviour management and safeguarding.
• Willingness to complete required safeguarding and health training.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the safe delivery of YMCA East Surrey Alternative Provision service.
• Work as part of a team of Learning Support Assistants and volunteers to ensure high quality provision.
• Ensure Health and Safety of children and young people and colleagues, following safeguarding policies.
• Support learners with a varied program of life skills, training, community and wellbeing activities.
• Record and evidence learning actions for ASDAN module work.
