Job summary

Smile Education is looking for a passionate SEND Learning Support Assistant to work in a primary school in Bilston. In this role, you will support pupils with special educational needs in a nurturing environment, working both independently and as part of a team. Ideal candidates will have a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, plus experience with SEN children. This position offers flexibility with part-time or full-time hours during term time.

Job description

Smile Education are proud to be supporting a thriving SEND Primary School within the Bilston area, in the appointment of a SEND Learning Support Assistant.
The school wish to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their existing team on a flexible basis.

This role offers you the opportunity to work on a 1:1 basis supporting pupils across different classes with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, MLD, SPLD, SEMH. Working alongside the dedicated class teachers you will support in implementing and maintaining a nurturing and calm environment.

• SEN Learning Support Assistant - (Bilston)
• Flexible work pattern – Part time or Full time
• Term time only
• 1:1 Pupil support – multi class based
• Working independently and as part of a wider team
• Preparing resources and learning materials
• Creating a nurturing and holistic learning environment for all pupils

About You:

• Must hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
• Ability to travel to Wolverhampton
• Confident in working independently in a 1:1 role
• Experience of supporting SEN children and young people within the last 2 years
• Be able to provide references covering the last 2 years, including interactions with children and young people
• Hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate or willing to apply for a new one through Smile Education
