Job description

Axcis Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a SEND alternative provision school in the Solihull area. You will work with primary-aged students who have faced challenges engaging in education, in an inclusive and welcoming environment that promotes trust, personal, and social development. The school offers a balance of routine and flexibility, fostering a safe space where students can thrive, with a family-like atmosphere that encourages respect and community among students and staff.

Role Details
  1. Position: Learning Support Assistant
  2. Location: Solihull
  3. Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30, during term-time
  4. Duration: Initially a long-term agency role, with potential for permanent employment
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the SENCo and the SEND team to support students’ engagement and remove barriers to learning
  • Assist in creating a supportive environment that fosters trust and respect
  • Support students’ personal and social development within the school setting
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in support work, residential, or emergency services backgrounds is desirable
  • Experience in a school setting is beneficial but not essential
  • Willingness to undergo DBS checks and comply with safeguarding policies
  • Suitable qualifications for the role and ability to attend a face-to-face interview
