Job summary

The Norton Knatchbull School is offering a Learning Support Apprenticeship focused on special educational needs and disabilities. The apprentice will work 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils access learning, while maintaining detailed progress records and providing feedback to teachers.

You will gain specialist SEND training and complete on-the-job assessments, with a pathway to Level 3 or Level 5 entry. Term-time hours are set, with potential for full-time staff progression.

Qualifications

• Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE grade 5 or above)
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (for Level 5 entry)

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group learning support for pupils.
• Keep detailed records of learning and observations for feedback to pupils and teachers.
• Organise and deliver small-group interventions.
• Support pupils' understanding of the National Curriculum and school assessment documents.
• Provide effective support for colleagues and work with teachers, parents and carers.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the work.
• Contribute to safeguarding, health and wellbeing of pupils.
• Provide administrative support to the Inclusion Manager.
