Job summary

United Colleges Group is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support learners with SEND within the Apprenticeship framework. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to access the curriculum and build independence, while working closely with lecturers and support teams.

The role offers a structured apprenticeship with extensive training, potential progression to teaching, and a focus on inclusion, safeguarding, and high-quality, student-centred support.

Qualifications

• GCSEs English and Maths at grade 4 or above.
• Experience of working with or supporting young people with learning needs.
• Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and SEND Code of Practice (2014).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to learners in and out of the classroom.
• Assist with lessons, catch-up and revision sessions, exam access arrangements and enrichment activities.
• Promote inclusion, positive behaviour, self-esteem and independence for learners with SEND.
• Attend scheduled training days and complete off-the-job training during the apprenticeship.
