Job summary

Weston College Group in Weston-super-Mare is hiring two full-time SEND Job Coaches to support students with learning disabilities. The role involves initial assessments, vocational profiling, and delivering targeted job coaching to help students progress into paid employment.

Interviews will take place on-site at Weston-super-Mare campuses. The position requires a recognised LDD/SEND qualification or a commitment to gain one within two years, with safeguarding and inclusion at the core of daily

Qualifications

• LDD or SEND qualification; ready to gain within first two years with college support.
• Experience in learning support and job coaching with evidence of successful employment outcomes.
• Knowledge of learning difficulties and how they affect learning and paid employment.
• Familiarity with evidence-based job coaching and learning strategies.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Initial Needs Assessments and Vocational Profiling to establish support needs and track progress.
• Deliver job coaching and adhere to the SEND Code of Practice and National Occupational Standards for Supported Employment.
• Plan and review individual programmes of support ensuring EHCP requirements are met and progress tracked.
• Collaborate with the EHCP Coordinator to ensure proper application for EHCPs and necessary documentation.

We are recruiting for two full-time roles, working 37 hours per week all year round.

Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare.

As a SEND Job Coach, you may be based at any of our Weston-super-Mare campuses.

Day to day duties of the role

• Carrying out high quality Initial Needs Assessments and Vocational Profiling along with other appropriate assessments to establish support needs and effectively track progress leading to successful outcomes.
• Proactively deliver Job Coaching and implement the SEND Code of Practice and adherence to the Supported Employment National Occupational Standards.
• Plan and reviewing individual programmes of support ensuring all aspects of provision and support specified within a student's Education Health and Care Plan is in place and the progress is effectively tracked and monitored.
• Close liaison with the EHCP Coordinator to ensure a seamless process of applying for an EHCP, producing the necessary documentation and ensuring the statutory requirements are in place.

Required skills and qualifications

• LDD or SEND qualification. All candidates must possess a recognised LDD qualification or be prepared to gain (with the assistance of the College) a qualification within the first two years of service.
• Relevant successful learning support and job coaching experience with evidence that these have led to sustainable paid employment outcomes.
• Knowledge and understanding of learning difficulties and disabilities and how these may affect the way students learn, gain and sustain paid employment.
• Knowledge and experience of current evidence-based job coaching and learning strategies.
