Job summary

Activate Learning Group in Guildford is seeking a SEND Job Coach to support learners with SEND within the LLDD department. The role is permanent, part-time (0.80 FTE) and based at Guildford College, with hours 8.30am-4.00pm, Monday to Friday during term-time.

You will provide tailored coaching, monitor progress, and mentor learners to achieve individual goals while supporting multiple Learning Companies as needed.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience working with young people with SEND.
• Ability to break down tasks and provide clear, structured instructions to support learner understanding.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.
• Experience in a Further Education (FE) environment is desirable, though not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored coaching and guidance to learners enrolled in LLDD programmes.
• Monitor student progress, assess performance and mentor learners to achieve goals.
• Ensure smooth daily operation of Learning Companies and support across multiple units as needed.

About the role: SEND Job Coach

We are seeking an enthusiastic Job Coach to join our supportive team at Guildford College. In this role, you will provide tailored support to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) enrolled in our Employability Programmes, within the Learners with Learning Difficulties or Disabilities (LLDD) department.

As a Job Coach, you’ll play a vital role in helping students of all abilities develop key employability skills through active participation in our Learning Companies. Working closely with the Learning Company Coordinator, you’ll ensure the smooth daily operation of these work-based learning environments. Flexibility is key, as you may be required to support across multiple Learning Companies based on need.

In addition to delivering practical coaching and guidance, you will monitor student progress, assess performance, and mentor learners in achieving their individual goals and learning outcomes.

This is a permanent, part-time role working 35 hours per week during term-time (0.80 FTE) based at our Guildford College. Working hours are from 8.30am - 4.00pm Monday - Friday.
