Job summary

Essex County Council is recruiting two SEND Inclusion Partners to join our Education Service in Colchester. One part-time permanent and one full-time fixed-term to March 2028.

The role focuses on delivering inclusive education for children and young people with SEND, working with schools and settings to improve outcomes. You will need a Bachelor's degree with QTS, CPD, and strong communication; leadership and collaboration skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Educated to RQF level 6 (Bachelor's degree), with QTS or equivalent.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in SEND; a Masters degree is highly desirable.
  • Substantial teaching or Early Years' experience, with strong evidence of working with children with SEND; leadership is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality education advice and support to schools, settings, and colleges to deliver inclusive education for SEND.
  • Support delivery of school/setting led SEND, including peer-to-peer development and dissemination of knowledge in SEND.
  • Collaborate with schools to evaluate and build capacity through coaching, training and development.
  • Identify and deploy targeted support to improve inclusion and transitions for CYP with SEND; monitor impact and resources.
  • Act as link SEND Inclusion Partner for specific schools/settings to review and improve practice and EHCNA processes.
  • Work with partners to manage complex casework to sustain placements and resolve issues.
  • Undertake monitoring visits to ensure placements are fit for purpose and support transitions back when possible.
