Job summary

Accrington Academy, part of United Learning, is seeking a motivated Learning Support Assistant to work alongside teachers to support pupils across a range of subjects and abilities. You will help students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and independence, and contribute to a calm, focused learning environment.

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, C&L and EAL.
• Ability to build positive relationships and support across a range of subjects.
• Patience, adaptability and proactive approach to support learning.

Responsibilities

• Support individual students and small groups within the classroom.
• Deliver targeted interventions and personalised support programmes.
• Support students with SEND, SEMH, C&L and other barriers to learning.
• Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and engagement in learning.
• Assist with EHCPs, Individual Education and Behaviour Plans and agreed support strategies.
• Monitoring, recording and reporting on student progress and achievement.
• Building positive relationships with students, families and colleagues to support student success.
• Working collaboratively with teaching, pastoral and SEND teams to remove barriers to learning and raise attainment.
