Job summary

Teaching Personnel are partnering with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Accrington to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team from January 2027 on a full-time basis.

The role involves working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, providing targeted academic and emotional support, and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning in an inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Ability to work with teachers and pastoral staff.

Responsibilities

• Support students one-to-one and in small groups.
• Assist teachers with engaging and inclusive learning activities.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND.
• Encourage positive behaviour and student engagement.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff.
• Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with classroom preparation and organisation.
