About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Improvement Manager in our Strategy, Policy and Improvement team in Children & Culture. This post will play a crucial role in our improvement journey and will drive and coordinate inspection preparation with partners in the local area. In this post you will benefit from working alongside other posts focused on improvement activity enabling you to learn from and share best practice with colleagues. You will work with a range of services including partner agencies.
You will also play a visible and impactful leadership role and will need to quickly establish positive working relationships. The role also requires the ability to communicate well, produce reports and briefings and lead and motivate staff. This post forms a key part of the Strategy, Policy and Improvement Management Team.
About you
You will have:
· Knowledge of the key issues facing children’s social care and education and relevant inspection frameworks
· Significant understanding of performance management and improvement in a local authority
· Significant experience of driving improvement activities
· Experience of working in partnership with diverse agencies to deliver objectives
· Experience of developing strategy, policy, delivery plans, performance management and improvement tools
· Excellent oral, written and visual communication skills and the ability to involve a range of stakeholders
This is a fixed term role for 12 months.
