Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is working with a mainstream primary school in Gillingham to appoint a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant. The role is part-time and temporary with potential to become long-term for the right candidate. You will support pupils with SEND and assist in the classroom to promote engagement and progress.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
• Experience supporting children with SEND in a mainstream primary school
• Experience providing classroom support across the primary curriculum
• Understanding of safeguarding and supporting children's learning needs
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Energetic, patient and enthusiastic approach to helping children

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND alongside providing general classroom assistance.
• Work closely with teachers to encourage pupil engagement, independence and progress.
