Job summary

Oaklands College is seeking a trainer and skills coach within the Apprenticeships department to deliver training, coaching and assessment to apprentices, with a focus on SEND settings. The role involves workplace visits, progress reviews and developing training plans aligned to apprenticeship standards.

You will build relationships with employers, monitor progress and keep records to support funding and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering training, coaching and assessment in apprenticeship, educational or workplace learning settings.
• Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and vocational training delivery.
• Experience supporting learners in specialist education or SEND settings.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the apprenticeship journey from enrolment to completion.
• Deliver training, coaching and assessment to apprentices in specialist education and support roles.
• Support apprentices to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by apprenticeship standards.
• Carry out workplace visits, progress reviews and assessments with apprentices and employers.
• Monitor progress, set targets and ensure qualifications are achieved on time.
• Develop and agree individual training plans with apprentices and employers, aligned to standards and funding rules.
• Build effective relationships with employers to support workplace learning.
• Provide employers regular updates on apprentice progress and achievement.
• Keep accurate records to support quality assurance, compliance and funding.
• Contribute to learner achievement, retention and positive outcomes across programmes.
