Job summary

PK Education Limited in Pontefract is seeking a classroom support assistant to work with students aged 11–19 with SEN, including those with PMLD and autism. The role offers on-site support at a secondary special school with potential personal care tasks and manual handling responsibilities.

The position is available full-time or part-time, depending on needs, with a daily rate of £98–£108 (AWR compliant). DBS clearance is required or to be applied for.

Qualifications

• 6+ months UK experience in a special school or similar setting
• GCSE passes or equivalent in Health and Social Care
• Experience supporting students with PMLD, severe complex needs, autism, sensory impairment, challenging behaviour, medical and physical difficulties
• Manual Handling and/or Team Teach training advantageous
• DBS subscribed to annual service or willing to apply for one

We have an exciting opportunity at the special school in Pontefract that cater for students age range 11 – 19 years old could be a good fit if you're interested in working with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Severe complex or profound multiple learning difficulties. Among this many of the students contend with additional needs, including Autism, sensory impairment, challenging behaviour, as well as medical and physical difficulties. Job Overview

• Experienced classroom support assistant
• Secondary Special school in Pontefract
• Full-time or part-time, based on availability
• Competitive rates, between £98 – £108 per day (AWR Compliant)

Essential Requirements

• At least 6 months UK experience working in a special school or a similar setting
• GCSE passes, GNVQ Level 2 or higher in Health and Social Care
• Experience supporting students with PMLD, severe complex needs, Autism, sensory impairment, challenging behaviour, medical and physical difficulties.
• Manual Handling and/or Team Teach training (advantageous if you have CPD in these areas)
• Child and Adult Workforce DBS subscribed to the annual subscription service. Or willing to apply for one.
