Job summary

Greenacre School in Barnsley is seeking an inclusive Class Teacher to join a large, outstanding special school within the Wellspring Trust. The role involves delivering a broad core and thematic curriculum, employing evidence-based teaching, and supporting pupils with severe and complex learning needs.

You will collaborate with a supportive team, lead classroom staff, and contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing. QTS, SEND experience, and strong behaviour management are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Experience delivering curriculum to pupils with SEND or complex needs.
• Strong English, Maths, Science and IT curriculum delivery knowledge.
• Proven ability in behaviour management and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver an engaging, broad core and thematic curriculum tailored to pupils with SEND.
• Specialist Teaching: Use evidence-based approaches to accelerate progress and foster independent learners.
• Behaviour & Well-being: Create a structured environment with restorative and positive behaviour strategies.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and deploy classroom support staff with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Assessment & Progress: Track attainment, set targets, and celebrate achievements.
• Holistic Support: Support learning across settings, including outreach and enrichment activities.
