Job summary

Greenacre School, one of the UK's largest special schools, is seeking an inspirational Class Teacher to join its inclusive team. The role focuses on delivering a broad curriculum tailored to pupils with severe and complex learning disabilities, with MPS/UPS plus SEN Allowance.

You will work with a supportive Wellspring Trust, lead classroom strategies, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing while driving outstanding progress for 3-19 learners.

Qualifications

• Must hold QTS and have successful experience delivering a relevant curriculum to pupils with SEND or complex learning needs.
• Strong knowledge of English, Maths, Science and IT curriculum delivery.
• Excellent behaviour management skills with ability to handle challenging situations with care.
• Experience leading or supporting classroom teams and collaborative work with carers and external agencies.
• Ability to safeguard and promote welfare of vulnerable children and a full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver an engaging, broad, core and thematic curriculum tailored to meet individual needs.
• Specialist Teaching: Use evidence-based methods to accelerate progress and foster independent learning.
• Behaviour & Well-being: Maintain a stimulating, well-structured environment using restorative approaches.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration: Direct and deploy classroom support staff, working with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Assessment & Progress: Track attainment, set targeted goals and celebrate progress.
• Holistic Support: Support learning across settings including community, outreach and enrichment activities.
